About eBikeGenius

Independent e-bike reviews built on normalized data, not marketing copy.

What we do

eBikeGenius reviews commuter and off-road e-bikes and turns messy, inconsistent manufacturer spec sheets into one comparable format. The hard part of e-bike shopping isn't finding specs, it's that no two brands quote them the same way. We normalize the numbers so you can actually compare bikes side by side.

Every review reconciles units, keeps nominal and peak watts separate, keeps true bike weight separate from payload capacity, and computes battery watt-hours from voltage and amp-hours when a brand only lists those. We cite the source for values, and where a spec isn't published we say so rather than guess.

The Genius Score

Each bike gets a Genius Score from 0 to 100 — a buyer-first blend of real-world capability (range, power, weight, build) and value for the price, rated against same-category peers. Read the full methodology →

Editorial independence

We're reader-supported through affiliate links, but our ratings are editorially independent. A brand cannot pay for a higher Genius Score, and our scores are computed from data and peer comparisons, not from who we partner with. When a bike is mediocre for the money, we say so. See our affiliate disclosure for how the commissions work.
